Meeting Notes from 10/14/15

Here is a brief recap of our meeting this past Tuesday:
  • NAHS Officer positions are open: President, Vice- President, Secretary & Treasurer are all open. If you are interested in serving on the executive board please email me by Friday with which position you are interested in and why you think you are a good fit for that position.
  • Thank you to Sarah, Nicole and Kenia for taking the cute cut outs for Mrs. Trucchio's baby shower on - remember I need them within the next two weeks please!
  • Trunk-or-Treat night, Friday, October 30- still awaiting final confirmation but the early information looks like it will be from 6-9 here at BDHS, volunteers would need to be here at 5. The committee has said that we are able to purchase the face paint from them and actually run it as a fund raiser at $1.00 a design. So it would count as community service and hopefully raise some money for our coffers.
  • We are hosting our first ever OPEN STUDIO here in room 1600 on Wednesday, October 21st from 2:15-4:30. Please join us if you are free as we will be working in the art room. you can work on something creative for a class or your own free artwork creation.
  • Mary Margaret is going to contact the Nokesville School to see about being able to go over there and help in the art department in some manner. Assist the teacher during a class? Help run an after school art club?
  • We have signed up to be a Colorcycle School through Crayola. We will be placing bins or boxes around the school to collect dried out markers, any brand as well as dry erase markers. We will hopefully get the boxes out within the next week or so along with the signs (thank you Alexis for printing those!)
  • Documenting service hours: please note date, hours spent volunteering, a brief description of the activity, and have an adult responsible for the activity sign off on it and turn it in to me.
  • Fundraising possibilities: Paper flower sales for Valentine's, melted crayon tiger paws. Any other ideas you have, please email them to me and we will catalog the ideas.
