Corps of Cadets

This Wednesday November 11th and next Wednesday November 18th there will be Corps info briefings where the students can learn all about the Corps of Cadets, there be a Q&A with a panel of cadets and an Army ROTC breakout room discussing all things Army ROTC.
Go to the following link to register:  https://admit.vt.edu/portal/additional_info_sessions.  Once there, click on any Wednesday on the calendar and then look towards the bottom of the page and click on the session titled "Corps Information Session with a Cadet Panel and ROTC Breakouts" then follow the instructions to register. 

US Naval Academy

The preliminary application for admission to the Class of 2025 through our Admissions website at https://www.usna.edu/Admissions/.  We do conduct a rolling admissions process, and therefore, completing your application early is highly encouraged. Please know, however, your preliminary application must be submitted by December 31, 2020. 

Although we have reduced or postponed our external outreach efforts due to current public health concerns associated with the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), please know that our Office of Admissions remains fully operational.  We have posted a Naval Academy Admissions Brief on YouTube for students, parents, and educators to familiarize themselves with our admissions process.  All of our counselors are available to conduct virtual visits and attend virtual college fairs as requested.

Military Options

  • If you are interested in a military career or even one enlistment for a few years, your first step is to gather information. 
  • Meet with a recruiter to get more in-depth information about military service. You do not have to sign anything until you are ready to! 
  • Consider whether you want to join full-time or part time through the reserves or national guard.

    ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery)
  • If you are joining the military, you will have to take the ASVAB. This is offered __________, but you can also take it privately with a recruiter. Practice tests are available on the ASVAB site below.
  • The ASVAB is one piece that helps determine whether you are qualified to enlist in the military and how qualified you are for certain military jobs or specialties. Each military branch has a different cut off score.
