Specialty programs focus on career exploration, subject area concentration, and college/university preparation.

Students may participate in the comprehensive program at their base high school, apply for the specialty program at their base high school, or apply to transfer to another high school for a specialty program.

Specialty Program Information Sessions

Brentsville District High School will host two program-specific information sessions during the 2025-26 school year:

• Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium
• Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium

PWCS hosts Specialty Program general information webinar that offers an overview of each program and the application process. The information webinar this year will be on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 6 p.m.

The application window for the Specialty Programs is November 3, 2025 - February 1, 2026.  

General Specialty Program Requirements

• Core content grades of C or above
• No negative report card comments (participation/NHI's/self control) across multiple courses
• No egregious offenses - multiple suspensions or one that compromises student safety
