Brentsville has two Advisory Councils, PTAC (Parent Teacher Academic Council) and SAC (School Advisory Council). Click below to learn more.
Parent Teacher Academic Council (PTAC)
PTAC is an independent, non-profit organization composed of parents, teachers, and administrators. We promote parent/school communication as well as support activities to enable our students to achieve educational success and ensure their well-being. We support and coordinate programs and projects that promote educational enrichment. Some of these are scholarships, school enrichment (through grants to clubs and classrooms), support academic initiatives, and support SOL testing. We support academic activities to build the BDHS community with hospitality and events.
To join PTAC, please email [email protected].

School Advisory Council (SAC)
School Advisory Council General Information
The purpose of the School Advisory Council (SAC) is to advise the principal by helping develop the school's continuous improvement plan, approving the school budget, and discussing matters of importance to the Brentsville District HS community.
The SAC meets in the resource room every third Tuesday at 7 p.m. from September to May. Exceptions for the 2025-26 school year are the September and October meetings due to scheduling conflicts and a holiday.
Members of the community not part of the council are invited to share ideas and concerns during community time/open chair time at the beginning of each meeting. Those interested in addressing the council during this time must contact the principal by the close of business on the Friday before the upcoming SAC meeting.
For questions, please contact Principal Katherine Meints at [email protected].
