Senior Parking and Parking Space Painting

The administration of Brentsville District High School has agreed to allow senior students to paint their parking spaces. Choosing to decorate your space allows you to not only personalize your space but creates a dedicated parking space for you during school hours.

Please know you must purchase a parking pass and pay to paint your spot for a total of $130 via https://www.studentquickpay.com/pwcs/.

Approval process steps:

  • Submit the following to Dr. Meints for consideration:
  • Once your design is approved by Dr. Meints:
    • Pay for your parking permit and painted space at StudentQuickPay. *Do not pay until your spot is approved.
  • Paint your spot.

Parking Space Decoration Expectations
Students must submit a design for consideration and receive approval PRIOR TO purchasing and choosing a parking space. The design should be completed on the Senior Parking Design Request form. The form should be completed in color and be an accurate representation of the design. Adjustments to designs are not permitted after approval. All paint used must be water-based latex paint – absolutely no spray paint, reflective or florescent paint may be used.

Students are expected to paint over the design in black prior to graduation.

These designs will be displayed on school property and could appear to be school, or school-division endorsed. Therefore, designs that are religious, political, or controversial in nature will not be approved. The administration of Brentsville District High School reserves the right to not approve any design that it deems offensive or inappropriate. The judgment of appropriateness of design is at the sole discretion of the school administration.

Prohibited designs include, but are not limited to:

  • Offensive language, pictures, or symbols
  • Negative or rude language
  • Gang-style tagging
  • Double entendre
  • Other students’ names or likenesses

Senior Yearbook Ads

Parents/Guardians: If you have purchased a yearbook, it's not too late to also purchase a Senior Ad! Senior Ads can be designed by you and submitted, or you can have the yearbook staff work design it for you.

Go to: www.yearbookforever.com and look for Brentsville. Scroll down and you will see the image below. We would like ads to be submitted no later than March 20th. This is to allow us time to format them into the yearbook and make sure all is good!

Please note that BDHS/The Yearbook Staff is not responsible for any pricing this year as all prices are set by Walsworth.

Email Mrs. Elsasser at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Graduation Slideshow

Class of 2026 Students and Families,

As we enter your graduation year, there are many special traditions.  One of those is the graduation slideshow that is made available just before the graduation ceremony.  The Class of 2026 Graduation Slideshow will feature 1 slide per senior with 3 photos: A formal senior photo, a baby/toddler photo, and one candid photo.

There are also sections for the special events throughout the year:  Spirit Weeks, Homecoming, Pep Rallies, Sporting Events, Prom, Senior Trip, etc.  As we progress through the year, please send your best pics from those events as well!

Please email photos to [email protected]. Photos for the individual student slide should be labeled with the graduate’s first and last name. Photos for the events pages should be labeled with the event name.  The deadline for all photos is April 30.  (Prom pictures can be sent by May 12.)

For ideas and inspiration, click the link to see last year’s slideshow.  (There is music, so check your volume before you press play.) Class of 2025 Graduation Slideshow View Link

If you have questions about the Graduation Slideshow, please email Melissa Layton ([email protected]).

NOTE:  This is separate from photos/ads for the yearbook.  If you have yearbook photo/ad questions, please email Mrs. Elsasser ([email protected])

Canvas: Parent Observer Accounts

Observer accounts are available to Prince William County Public Schools parents and/or guardians of students using Canvas.

Observers (parents and/or guardians) can link their Canvas account to their student's account so they can see announcements and other course content. Observers may view the course content, but they cannot participate in the course.

Students and Parents/Guardians can follow the linked directions (PDF in English and Spanish) to set up the Observer accounts.

Technology Help & Device Tips

When students encounter a technology problem on a school device, there are steps to follow to get assistance.

  1. Students (or a classmate or teacher) can complete a PWCS Tech Request (link in PWCS Sites folder in Chrome/Edge and in all Canvas courses).
  2. Our Technical Support Specialist will then reach out to the students and the current classroom teachers via email with further instructions.
  3. If the device cannot be quickly fixed, a loaner device will be issued for temporary use. Note - Loaner devices are not issued when school devices are forgotten at home.

Some regular device maintenance will keep the school device running efficiently.

  1. Weekly, students should run updates at home. Directions (PDF)
  2. Daily, students should shut down the laptop in the evening and power it back on in the morning. Power down by clicking the Windows key, pressing the Power icon, and choosing Shut down. (Image below)
  3. Devices should be charged at home every afternoon/evening.
